James L. Whitney Obituary

James Lawrence Whitney, the son of Larry Whitney and Arma Jean (Ross) Whitney, was born on July 3, 1956. He passed away in his home on June 5, 2025 at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 2 days.  Jim was baptized and confirmed in the First Presbyterian Church in Superior.

Jim was a Superior High School graduate with the class of 1974. He continued his education at Kearney State College earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. On May 24, 1980 he married Dana Johnson-Beaumont in Kearney, NE. With their marriage he was blessed with 3 step children.

He worked as an insurance adjuster for a number of years and then worked until retirement at Baxter Toyota in Omaha.

Jim loved hunting, fishing, Husker football, and volleyball. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dana, his father, Larry Whitney and his brother-in-law, Justin Thompson.

Survivors include his mother, Arma Jean Whitney of Superior, NE his brother Chuck Whitney (Phyllis), of Juniata, NE, sister Barbara Whitney Thompson of Superior, NE, children Todd Beaumont of Anamosa, IA, Michelle Tallant of Omaha, NE and Brandon Beaumont of Casa Grande, AZ, 5 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many friends.

A Celebration of Life with be planned at a later date.
