Christian Biography of Janis Culbertson

Janis Aliene Culbertson, the daughter of Walter and Aliene (Meinhold) Meyer was born on May 23, 1940 at Deshler, Nebraska. She passed away on May 28, 2026 at Brodstone Healthcare in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 86 years and 5 days.

Janis attended the Deshler Public Schools. She was confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler on April 11, 1954. She was united in marriage to Duane Drohman and to this union was born five children. They later divorced. Janis worked for Reinke manufacturing for 37 years and retired at age 72.  Janis enjoyed quilting, gardening and playing cards. She was a member of the quilting club in Nelson, the Rubies and a card club. Janis loved to make baby quilts and baby items for her all of her grandchildren. One of her greatest joys was to spend time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Aliene, son-in-law Marc Schnitker, great-grandchild, Rashon Collins, Jr., sister in law Eva Meyer and nephew Tim Meyer.

Janis is survived by her children, Duane Jr and wife Dixie of Oak, Nebraska, Lynn Culbertson and husband Mike of Nelson, Nebraska, Valerie Schnitker of Lincoln, Nebraska, David Drohman and wife Fawn of Lincoln, Nebraska and Vicki Collins and husband Bernard of Lincoln, Nebraska. 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; Dustin Drohman(Nikki) and their children Molley and Jase, Derrick Drohman (Jakki) and their children Ryker, Rixten and Ryley, Cole Culbertson (Alicia) and their son Caden, Tori Karr (Brian), and their children Kerigan (Max) Braden and Hayden,  Jill Spurling (Austin), Jodi Pelzer (Kevin), and their children Kennedie (Creighton) Kasen and Kallie and grandson Bronx,  Kylie Wynne (Todd), and their children Alia (Bryant) Marcus and granddaughter, Remi, Brooke Ford (Floyd), Vanessa Collins and children, Myles, Quentin, Denzel and Ally, Nicole Collins and Alyssa Collins. She is also survived by her brother Kent Meyer of Buckley Washington and his sons Kenny and Todd, along with a host of many other relatives and friends.
