Jerry Loop, 43, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Monday, March 30, 2015, at his home in Columbus.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 3 at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Patrick Sparling and Rev. Peter Jurchen officiating.

Graveside inurnment will be on Saturday, April 4th,  at 10:30 AM in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska,

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00 - 6:30 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. There will be a family prayer service on Friday at 10:45 AM at the church. Military honors will be by The American Legion Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran School.

Jerry Robert Loop, was born October 21, 1971, in Superior, Nebraska, to Jimmie and Marcia (Leege) Loop. He was baptized and confirmed at Centennial Lutheran Church of Superior, NE. He graduated from Superior High School where he lettered 11 times in sports. He went on to get his LPN license at Kearney State College. Jerry worked as a nurse in Kearney and Grand Island, including the Veterans Hospital in Grand Island for 10 years. In 1998, Jerry moved to Columbus where he started working at Super Saver as a supervisor. He later worked as a lab technician at Marshfield's in Schuyler, and then as a production manager at CAS Enterprises in Columbus. Jerry also served in the National Guard.

Jerry was very involved in his niece and nephew's activities. He enjoyed Husker football, camping, boating, spending time with family, was a huge Sci-Fi movie fan, and enjoyed trivia of all sorts. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
