Christian Biography of Jerry Rainforth

Gerald "Jerry" H. Rainforth, the son of Howard and Iva (Price) Rainforth, was born on September 23, 1936 in Hastings, Nebraska. He passed away on September 11, 2013 at Valley County Health Systems in Ord, Nebraska at the age of 76 years, 11 months, 19 days.

Jerry was one of four children; he graduated from Wood River High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He was engaged in farming and ranching. On September 1, 1957 he was united in marriage to Betty Whiteley in Nelson, Nebraska and to this union two children were born. In June of 1958 he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in April of 1961.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was survived by his wife Betty of North Loup, Nebraska; son Philip Rainforth and wife Teresa of Great Falls, Montana; and daughter Lori Rainforth of Cameron, North Carolina; two grandchildren Logan Rainforth from Great Falls, Montana and Casey Jo (Rainforth) Jourdan with husband Patrick from Hillsboro, Tennessee; two sisters Joan Apfel of Grand Island, Nebraska; and Rosemary McLey of Fairfield, Arkansas; and one brother Dean Rainforth of Wood River, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Private family graveside services were held at the Nelson Cemetery in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating.

Inurnment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.
