Christian Biography of John J. Overton

John Junior Overton, the son of John and Francis Overton Berry, was born on November 25, 1928 in Delmar, Alabama. He passed away on June 15, 2017 at his residence at Hardy, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 6 months, 21 days.

John attended Kings School in Alabama. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1960.

He was united in marriage to Tammie Sheldon on December 11, 1993 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, one sister and an infant son.

He is survived by his wife Tammie; and children Candice Garcia, Calvin Overton, Jim Overton, John Overton, Steve Overton, Judy Overton and Tony "John" Overton; 21 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; and his brother Jim Overton of Ohio; other relatives and a host of friends.

There will be no funeral service scheduled for John. Only a public visitation will be held on Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM
