Christian Biography of Johnny Americus Seefeld
Johnny Seefeld, 93, was born January 9, 1924, near Nelson, Nebraska and passed away on January 11, 2017, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He graduated from Nelson High School and attended the UNL. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in the Battle of the Bulge as an M.P. He married Hazel Grace Rasmussen of Maxwell on June 6, 1943, in Starke, Florida. Johnny was a farmer near Greenwood. He was a 60 year member of Superior Lodge #121 AF & AM & a 50 year member of Davenport Chapter #268 Order of the Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel; parents, Charles and Fern Seefeld; brothers, Homer Seefeld, Charles M. Seefeld, Robert Seefeld; sisters, Virginia Carlton and Viola Remmereid; a son, Philip Seefeld and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Seefeld.
He is survived by a son, Randall Seefeld of Lincoln, Nebraska, a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Larry Hudkins of Malcolm, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Donna Seefeld of Lincoln, Nebraska; brother, Joseph Seefeld of Omaha, Nebraska; sisters, Norma Jean (John) Greiser of Davenport, Iowa, and Lila Mae (Joe) Mertens of Superior, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Janet (Steve) Olander of Madison, Mississippi; Kathy (Henrik) Christensen of Malcolm, Nebraska, Jonathan (Julie) Seefeld and Jennifer Seefeld, David Seefeld, and Brenda Seefeld, all of Lincoln, Nebraska; eight great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service with Military Honors will be in the Nelson Cemetery on June 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM
