Christian Biography of Joe Herrick
Joseph Ray Herrick, the son of Lloyd and Nettie (Knowles) Herrick, was born on December 2, 1938 in Elk City, Oklahoma. He passed away on August 24, 2020 at his home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 81 years, 8 months, 22 days.
Joe was a 1957 graduate of Deshler High School in Deshler, Nebraska. In 1957, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Mittan and to this union were born two children, Cheri Rae and Joseph Richard.
Joe transported milk for over 30 years from many, many dairy farmers all around the area. During his lifetime he lived in the communities of Hebron, Franklin and Superior. He enjoyed his job, visiting with people, liked to fish, go to the lake and river, work in his garden and just be outside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Nettie, his wife Marilyn in 2004, sisters, Verlene (Vert) and Gwendolyn (Gwennie) and a brother Garland (Bud).
He is survived by his children, Joey Herrick of Belleville, Kansas and Cheri O'Neal and significant other, Bryan Riley of Lincoln, Nebraska. Three grandchildren, Jason Reinke and wife Mel of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jessica Edwards and husband Matt of Superior, Nebraska and Jeremy Reinke of Hebron, Nebraska. 8 great grandchildren Lidia, Owen, Oliver, Noah, Lilly, Dylan, Marley and Bentley. Nieces, Jill Lewis and husband Gary of Topeka, Kansas and Candace (Keek) DeVries of Lincoln, Nebraska and a sister in law, Ellen (Mittan) Cabrera, and his longtime friend and brother in law, Jimmie Cabrera.
Per his wishes Joe was cremated and there will be no services.
