Christian Biography of Kathaleen E. Blackstone
Kathaleen Elmira Blackstone, the second of three daughters born to James and Bertha (Aurand) Hurley, was born on March 8, 1918 on the family farm in Republic County, Kansas. She passed away on May 12, 2014 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 96 years, 2 months, 4 days.
She attended the Hurley and Pine rural schools, two years of high school in Republic, Kansas, graduating from Hardy High School in May of 1936. On May 5, 1944, in Republic, Kansas she was united in marriage to Cecil Blackstone.
Kathaleen worked in the Western Auto Store in Superior, Nebraska for 24 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Cecil on November 15, 1992; and her two sisters Vera and Nora Hurley.
She is survived by family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday May 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Jocelyn Tupper officiating.
Music was "In the Garden," and "Beyond the Sunset," with Marsha Cline as the soloist and Carlita Price as the organist.
Visitation was held on Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Pallbearers were Steve Diehl, Steve Elledge, Lee Hansen, Chad Hansen, Ken Heitman, and John Combs
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
