Christian Biography of Keith Eickmann

Keith Eickmann, the son of Charlie and Nora (Rieke) Eickmann, was born on December 5, 1927 in Chester, Nebraska. He passed away on March 5, 2013 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital, Superior, Nebraska at the age of 85 years and 3 months.

Keith received his formal education attending Chester Public School and graduated from Chester High School. After high school, Keith attended Fairbury Junior College. He was inducted into the United States Army on April 25, 1946 and was honorably discharged on April 23, 1947, serving during World War II. He returned to Chester and worked as a lineman.

On July 10, 1949 he was united in marriage to Eileen Kuehne at St. John's Lutheran Church, Chester, Nebraska and to this union a daughter was born. They moved to Superior in 1952 and operated Superior Upholstery and later they owned and operated a soft water business called Superior Servisoft. A few years later, Keith started Eickmann Realty and Auction and was a Real Estate Broker. In 1976 he built, owned and operated the Superior Manor until his death.

Keith was active in the Centennial Lutheran Church and was responsible for the radio broadcasting the Sunday morning services for many years and he also sang in the Centennial Quartet.

Keith was a member of the Centennial Lutheran Church, Lions Club, American Legion Club, and the Elks Club. He enjoyed golfing and in his younger days playing baseball during the 30's and 40's.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Glen, Howard, Oland, Wilbur and Fredrick.

He is survived by his wife Eileen of Superior, Nebraska; daughter Margo Williams and husband Robert of Nora, Nebraska; two grandchildren: Scott Williams and wife Jill of Kearney, Nebraska and Steven Williams and wife Haylee of Hebron, Nebraska; three great grandchildren: Caden, Ella Jo and Crosbe; and one sister Arlene Howland of Topeka, Kansas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and host of friends.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Brian Earl officiating.

Music was congregational hymns "Amazing Grace," and "How Great Thou Art," and recording "Just A Little Talk With Jesus," with Carlita Price as organist.

Book signing was held on Thursday and Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Honorary Pallbearers were Scott Williams, Steven Williams, Caden Williams, Crosbe Williams, Robert Williams and Clint Richardson.

Inurnment was in the Chester City Cemetery at Chester, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established and may go in care of the family.
