Christian Biography of Kellei Louise Bruns

Kellei Bruns, the daughter of Charles and Darlene (White) Weston, was born on August 1, 1960 in Harper, Kansas. She passed away on June 22, 2015 at the Bryan LGH Medical Center East at Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 54 years.

Kellei grew up on the Schlickau Hereford Ranch with her 4 siblings until she was five years old, then the family moved to Beloit, Kansas where she attended grade school, graduating from Beloit High School. She later moved to Superior, Nebraska and that is where she met her future husband. On October 10, 1984 she was united in marriage to Steve Bruns at Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, this union was blessed with a son and daughter, Zach and Katie.

Kellei was a manager for an apartment complex in Superior. She enjoyed camping in the mountains, bowling, and attending her children's events and games. She loved to collect tins, black and white enamel dishes, and moose items. "Nena" loved to read and play with her grandsons, whom she cherished so much. She was a member of Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior, being baptized on November 30, 2007 by Pastor Albrecht.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Darlene; her sister Pamela Jane Weston in infancy; father-in-law Herb Bruns and brother-in-law Dan Woods.

She is survived by her husband Steve of Superior, Nebraska; children Zach and wife Jennifer of Burr Oak, Kansas; and Katie and her fiancé Nick Loughran of Kansas City, Missouri; two grandsons Barrett and Jake Bruns; and her beloved dog Eddie; sisters Anna Stock and husband Ernie of Topeka, Kansas; and Sue Woods of Beloit, Kansas; brothers Dale Weston and wife Rae Jean of Beloit, Kansas and Charlie Weston and wife Janet of Reading, Kansas; mother-in-law Bettie Bruns of Superior, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside Memorial services were held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 10:30 AM from the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor David Johnson officiating.

Music was Alan Jackson recordings of "Sissy's Song," and "How Great Thou Art."

Honorary Pallbearers were Brent Pike, Jon Bruns, Devin Stock, Tim Stock, Charles Weston, Dean Weston, Jeff Weston, Jay Weston, Jon Weston, Margo Human, Linda Staniec, Kelly Pike and Ashley Pike.

Inurnment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center or Brodstone Memorial Hospital.
