Christian Biography of Lee Bruce Hansen

Lee Bruce Hansen, the son of George and Ardeth (Davidson) Hansen, was born on January 10, 1952 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on May 20, 2015 at his home, near Superior, Nebraska at the age of 63 years, 4 months, 10 days.

Lee grew up on the farm and attended school in Hardy, graduating from Hardy High School with the class of 1970. After graduating he attended Kearney State College earning his Bachelor Degree. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and was confirmed in the Hardy Union Church in 1966 by V.C. LeMon. He was honored the All State Football award in 1968 and in 1970 he held the state record in the discus in his class.

On June 10, 1972 he was united in marriage to Vonia Shotzman in Hardy, Nebraska and to this union 2 children were born. Lee was an outdoors man; he farmed and raised livestock, and was an avid hunter. He was an official Pope and Young scorer, he was a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, Superior Country Club, and a life member of the NRA. One of his favorite vacation spots was fishing and rock hunting in Pagosa Springs with his family.

Lee is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ardeth; and his brother Dennis.

He is survived by his wife, Vonia of Superior, Nebraska; son Chad Hansen and wife Katrina all of Superior, Nebraska; and daughter Holly Hansen and partner Abbie Grim of Des Moines, Iowa; three grandchildren Zade and Mikynzie Hansen and Cole Epley; and his brother Milan Hansen and wife Deb of Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating.

Music was "Go Rest High On That Mountain," "Keeper Of The Stars," and "Life Is A Highway," provided by Ivan Miller.

Pallbearers were Doug Cassens, Wes Cassens, Dr. Bruce Eddy, Alan Jones, Dana Jones, and Tom Sorensen. Honorary Pallbearers were Jeni Mason, Marcia Christensen, Ben Hansen, Jake Hansen, T.J. O'Neill, Ben O'Neill, and Marcy Swanson.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Presbyterian Church or donor's choice.
