Christian Biography of Leslie Jensen

Leslie H. Jensen, the son of Emil and Christa (Nielsen) Jensen, was born on December 14, 1932 in Ruskin, Nebraska. He passed away on September 6, 2020 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 87 years, 8 months, 23 days.

Leslie graduated from Hardy High School in Hardy, Nebraska. On June 29, 1952 he was united in marriage to Bonnie Flower and to this union was born two children. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ruskin, Nebraska. Leslie was retired after 30 years from the US Postal Service. He was a member of the Superior Fire Department for 22 years, the Lions Club, serving as local and district secretary, vice president of the Nelson Senior Citizens Club, the Nelson Beautification Committee and spent many years volunteering for various community projects and organizations.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, his son Mark and a brother Waldean Jensen.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie of Nelson, Nebraska, daughter Lu Ann Fitzgerald and husband Jim of Glenvil, Nebraska. Two grandchildren, Hillary Adams and Tressie McReynolds and one brother Donald Jensen and wife NaDeane of Oak Harbor, Washington along with a host of many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 10:00 am from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Lori E. L. Kitzing officiating.

Music was "In The Garden," "How Great Thou Art" and "Hymn of Promise," with Dorcas Judy as organist and Teresa Christensen as soloist.

Pallbearers were Dennis Melvin, Jim Woerner, Bob Albrecht, Lynn Nielsen, Wayne Peterson and Steve Thompson.

Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.

A memorial has been established and are suggested to go in care of the family.
