Christian Biography of Lillian Gray
Lillian Mary Gray, the daughter of Camillo and Caroline (Montoya) Machado, was born on May 15, 1938 in Silver City, New Mexico. She passed away on October 23, 2017 at Westby, Wisconsin at the age of 79 years, 5 months, 8 days.
Lillian was the youngest of 16 children. She grew up in Avalon (Catalina Island, California) where she attended school.
She married Dan Arthur Gray on December 23, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada, they had 2 children. They moved to Superior in 1982.
She was active in Church of Christ activities, Christian Women's Club and Stone Croft Ministries, and she volunteered at Good Samaritan Center, as long as her health allowed. She was a Prayer Warrior and called the Prayer Chain and sent greeting cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dan, son Daniel A. Gray, Jr., and 5 siblings in early childhood, and five in adulthood.
Survivors include her daughter Theresa Hanson and husband Norman; 3 grandchildren Katie Hanson, Rene Hanson and Norman Hansen III; 3 great grandchildren: Vanina Stard, Lillian Marie Stard and Brandon Levi Stard; and three sisters, Emma Palonco, Sarah Guerra & Minnie Belesquices and 1 brother Camillo Machado; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Superior Church of Christ in Superior, Ne with Pastor Ben Poole officiating.
Music was "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond The Sunset" with Paula Renz as the accompanist.
Visitation was held on October 26, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Pallbearers were Jim Mitchell, James Zoltenko, and Paul Hutchinson.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
