Christian Biography of Lloyd "Dee" Swihart

Lloyd "Dee" Swihart, the son of Lloyd Clinton Swihart and Ida Mae (Patrick) Swihart was born December 21, 1936 at Lovewell, Kansas.  He passed away Friday, December 22, 2017 at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior at the age of 81 years and 1 day.  He was a graduate of Lovewell High School.  Lloyd was united in marriage to Lorna Kay Perry in 1958 and to this union, sons Randy and Greg were born.  Lloyd and Lorna divorced in 1965.

Lloyd married Connie Ann Loop on August 18, 1968.  Throughout his life, Lloyd resided in Lovewell, Kansas; Hastings, Nebraska; Fort Dodge, Iowa and Superior, Nebraska.  He was an avid HAM Radio operator and a master electrician.  He was a member of the Elks Lodge; Superior Masonic Lodge; a volunteer fireman and EMT as well as serving on the Superior Park and Cemetery Board.   Lloyd enjoyed computer games, especially Farmtown.  He loved working the fish fry's at the Legion Hall and spending time at the VFW.  Above all, he loved his family and attending his grandchildren's activities.  He was always on the go.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Connie in 2012; sisters, Julia A. Summers; Ila Mae McFadden; Marcelee E. Swihart; Loretta C. Vale, and Reva Vale and a brother, Leslie C. Swihart.  Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Randy Swihart and his wife Wendy of Jacksonville, Florida; Greg Swihart and his wife Debbie of Middleburg, Florida; Melodee Brunken and her significant other Aaron of Columbus, Nebraska and Clark Swihart and his significant other Andrea of Columbus, Nebraska; grandchildren, Josh Ryba; Kiel Brunken; Matthew Brunken; Noah Brunken and Kayley Swihart; great-granddaughter, Averi Mae Brunken and sisters, Agnes F. Freed of Buena Park, California and Cheryl A. Ward of Pryor, Oklahoma.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Megrue – Price Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating.  Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Superior.  Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Memorials have been suggested to the family for future designation.  Megrue-Price Funeral Home in care of his arrangements.
