Christian Biography of Lula Arlene Gregersen
Lula Arlene Gregersen, the daughter of John and Sanna (Muth) Shellhase, was born on October 7, 1921 in Jewell County, Kansas. She passed away peacefully on December 6, 2013 at Auburn Ravine Terrace Skilled Nursing Home in Auburn, California at the age of 92 years, 1 month, and 29 days.
Lula was baptized and confirmed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hardy. She attended Hardy Grade School and graduated from Hardy High School. She received her Registered Nursing Certificate from Lincoln General Hospital.
She was united in marriage to Franklin Gregersen on March 6, 1946 in Portland, Oregon. To this union three children were born.
She was a member of her church groups, 20th Century Club in Reno, and Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association. Throughout her lifetime she lived in Portland, Oregon; Corvallis, Oregon; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Orlando, Florida; Reno, Nevada; and Auburn, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and three brothers Willard, Lee and Leslie.
She is survived by her husband Franklin of Auburn, California; son Mark Gregersen and wife Mary Kay of Auburn, California; daughters Sonya Gregersen of Riverside, California and Chrisanna Harrington of Punta Gorda, Florida; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; other relatives; and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hardy, Nebraska with Pastor Breen Marie Sipes officiating.
Congregational hymns were "Rock of Ages," "Amazing Grace," and "Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling," with Elizabeth Kaldahl as accompanist.
Visitation was held on Monday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Interment was in the Rosemound Cemetery at Hardy, Nebraska.
