Christian Biography of Marcia Kottmeyer
Marcia Nadine Kottmeyer, the daughter of Perry and Thelma (Busey) Roe, was born on April 22, 1934 in Jewell County Kansas southwest of Webber, Kansas. She passed away on June 15, 2013 at Superior Good Samaritan Society at the age of 79 years, 1 month, 24 days.
She attended the Jackson Center School through the fifth grade. Then she attended the Webber School through her 8th grade year. She attended and graduated from Superior Public High School with the class of 1952. While in high school she met Richard and they were married on June 1, 1952 at the Methodist Church in Webber. To this union they were blessed with 4 children, Cindy, Bradley, Kent and Mike.
Most of her life was spent fixing meals and doing for her children and grandchildren. She also had a passion and talent for creating beautiful jewelry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, infant son Bradley and a daughter-in-law, Tracy Kottmeyer.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Botham and husband Doug of Merriam, Kansas, Kent and wife Pam of Superior, Nebraska, Mike and special friend Ronda of Salina, Kansas. Her grandchildren, Sean McCord and his son, Marcia's great-grandson, Alexander of Kansas City, Kansas, Ryan McCord and wife Angela also of Kansas City, Kansas, Amy Kottmeyer and friend Haley Fisher of Kearney, Nebraska, Terry and Jonathan Gilbert of Kansas and Colorado along with a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating.
Music was an instrumental of "How Great Thou Art" provided by Carlita Price.
Visitation was held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers were Sean McCord, Ryan McCord, Brad Purcell, Joe Boyles, Jeff Hutchinson and Kif Portenier.
Interment was in the Salem Lutheran Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska
Memorials are suggested to go in care of the family.
