Obituary

Margaret Irene Sund, the daughter of Raymond and Mabel (Killough) Sibert, was born on May 26, 1934 in Superior, Nebraska. She passed away on May 8, 2026 at her home on the family farm near Bostwick, Nebraska at the age of 91 years, 11 months, 12 days.

Margaret was one of four children. She attended Superior High School along with Kearney State Teachers College coming back to the area and teaching before she was married. On August 27, 1954 she was united in marriage to Richard L. Sund in Belleville, Kansas and to this union was born five children, Mary, Richard, Debra, David and Susan.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, father and mother-in-law, Oscar and Verma Sund. Sister, Betty Sibert Oltman and husband Dale, brothers, Jim Sibert and Delbert Sibert, brother-in-law, George Sund Sr. and wife Ruby and a great granddaughter, Jaelynn Nedd.

She is survived by her children Mary Rhoads and husband Reg of Grand Island, Nebraska, Richard Sund, Debra Sund and David Sund all of Guide Rock, Nebraska and Susan Rogers and husband Keith of Superior, Nebraska. Grandchildren, Alisha Lautenschlager and husband J, Joshua Rhoads and wife Ashley all of Grand Island, Nebraska, Richard Rogers and wife Carrie of Shelton, Nebraska, Jennifer Rogers of Wichita, Kansas, Sara Reiter and husband David of Montrose, Kansas and Thomas Rogers and wife Mackenzie of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. Great-grandchildren, Paris Lautenschlager and wife Emma, Ethan Lautenschlager, Julianne Lautenschlager, Makayla Rhoads, Jaxson Rhoads, Wyatt Rogers, Kylie Rogers, Emily Rogers, Odin Nedd, Lena Nedd, Richard Reiter, Oliver Reiter, Anna Reiter, Landon Reiter, Eva Reiter, Conrad Rogers, Greta Rogers and Taytum Rogers and one great-great-grandson, Ryker Lautenschlager. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Melba Sibert of Cheyenne, Wyoming along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
