Christian Biography of Marlene Shrontz

Marlene Kaye Shrontz, passed away August 12, 2017 at her residence in Bossier City, Louisiana.  Marlene was born January 16, 1943 in rural Nelson, Nebraska.  She graduated from Nelson High School in 1960 and became a certified x-ray technician and worked for over 20 years in the Nuckolls County Health Services.

Marlene was a member and supporter of the United Methodist Church of Haughton, LA.  She served the community through the ACTION program (Area Churches Together in Our Neighborhood) which provides food and necessities to those in need.  She supported the Meals on Wheels Program, delivering meals to rural residents.  She also formed a bond to the AL-ANON organization.  Faith, family and friends were the priorities in Marlene's life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Peggy (Mark) Fletcher of Haughton, LA; and Lori Shrontz Richecky of Oklahoma; brothers, Gary (Lana) Jordan of Salina, KS and Rick Jordan of Omaha, NE; sister in law, Renee Jordan of Chatsworth, CA; grandchildren, Christina (David) Sandoval; Alan (Sarah) Richecky and Nolan, Logan and Jordan Fletcher as well as great-grandchildren, Rachel, Dakota, and Aubree Fletcher; Aidan and Lucas Sandoval and Hazel and Brynlee Richecky.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Vivian (Sigman) Jordan and her oldest brother, Bob Jordan.

Graveside memorial services for Marlene will be Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Nelson Cemetery in Nelson, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church (215 E McKinley Ave, Haughton, LA 71037).
