Mary Joan Hanna, the daughter of James Thomas Copper and Ruth Wingo was born November 5, 1944 at Colby, KS. She passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Bryan Medical Center East Campus in Lincoln, NE at the age of 73 years and 25 days.  Mary was united in marriage to James A. Hanna Sr. on April 14, 1979 in Long Beach, CA.  He preceded her in death on March 30, 2010.  Mary was also preceded in death by her father, James Copper; mother, Ruth Branstetter; son, Doug Green and a brother, Eugene Elbe.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Derita Burris of Pascagoula, MS; step-children, Jeff (Ginger) Hanna of Mobile, AL; John Hanna of Three Rivers, MS; Mike Hanna of Wade, MS; Virginia Shephard of Escatawpa, MS and Lonnie Hanna of Wade, MS; grandchildren, April (Harlin) Fore of Saucier, MS and Hannah (Tyler) Jacobs of Lafayette, LA; step-grandchildren, Daniel (Leslie) Hanna of Tuxey, AL; Crystal (Wes) Williams of Mobile, AL; Jennifer Hanna of Hurley, MS; Jamie (Tony) Hand of Hurley, MS; Jenna (Ron) Hinton of Hurley, MS; Ronald Shephard of Wade, MS; Melissa Shephard of Mobile, AL and Leslie Hanna of Wade, MS; sisters, Carol Larson of St. Francis, KS; Frances (Jim) Herren of Goodland, KS; Janice King of Burlington, CO; Sue (Lloyd) Sporing of Superior, NE and Ruth (Earl) Studer of Superior, NE; her brother, Jim Copper of Superior, NE; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Petey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, which was special to Mary in memory of her late husband Jim.

Memorial Services will be Monday December 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Megrue - Price Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor Natalie Faust officiating.  Friends may sign the remembrance book from 1 until 4 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.  An additional visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday December 11, 2017 at Coastal Funeral Home (12800 Highway 613) in Moss Point, MS with graveside services to follow at 12:00 PM at Serene Memorial Gardens in Moss Point, MS.
