Christian Biography of Maxine Hall
Stella Maxine Hall, the daughter of Edmon and Mary Alean (Knight) Montgomery, was born on July 17, 1931 on a farm in Jewell County Kansas. She passed away on December 31, 2015 at her home at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 5 months, 14 days.
Maxine attended Sweet Hill Country School and graduated from Montrose High School. On November 8, 1952 she was united in marriage to Frankie Dean Hall at San Pedro, California and to this union was born 4 children. During her lifetime she spent the majority of her younger years in Jewell County Kansas until moving into Superior after her marriage raising her family. On November 2, 2008 she was baptized at the Superior Church of Christ by Pastor Jim Stark.
She was a member of the Fireman's Auxiliary serving as local and state president and was also a member of the Brodstone Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, camping, craft work and attending local auction. She was very proud of being the head cook at the Superior School Systems while they still served real food. Her pies and cinnamon rolls were well known throughout the community. She was a member and clerk for the Montgomery and Hall Auction Services.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Phyllis Doyle and two brothers, Richard (Slim) and Marvin (Andy) Montgomery.
She is survived by her husband Dean, her children, Edmon Hall and wife Paula of Panama, Nebraska, Debra Harris of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Jacqueline Albertson and husband Rick of Republic, Kansas and Sandra Nelson and husband Kendall of Formoso, Kansas. Seven grandchildren Maranda Bradfield, Laura Harris, Jill Hall, Joshua Hall, Tisha Johnston and husband Perry, Jared Nelson and wife Tricia and Jason Nelson. Two great-grandchildren, Paden Johnston and Isaac Nelson. Sister's-in-law, Jeanice Montgomery of Guide Rock, Nebraska, Bernice Montgomery of Superior, Nebraska and brother-in-law Joe Doyle of Superior, Nebraska along with a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Jim Stark officiating.
Music was "In The Garden" and "Go Rest High On That Mountain" sung by Maranda Bradfield and Laura Harris. A postlude song "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers was played. Carlita Price was organist.
Pallbearers were Maranda Bradfield, Tisha Johnston, Joshua Hall, Jason Nelson, Jared Nelson, Laura Harris and Jill Hall.
Private family inurnment was in the Rosemound Cemetery at Hardy, Nebraska.
Memorials are suggested to go to the Superior Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary.
