Maxine Joan Williams, the daughter of Loren and Amy (Hoins) Bailey, was born on April 26, 1933 on the farm Northeast of Guide Rock, Nebraska. She passed away on June 6, 2021 at the Parkview Haven Nursing Home at Deshler, Nebraska at the age of 88 years, 1 month, 11 days.

She was baptized at the Beulah Church in Mt. Clare and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Guide Rock. She attended country schools District 17, District 87 and Riverside Country School, and graduated from Guide Rock High School. She then moved to Superior where she was employed at Armours and then the Farmers State Bank.

Maxine was united in marriage to Lawrence Williams on November 8, 1959 at the Guide Rock Methodist Church. This union was blessed with three children. Maxine worked alongside her husband in raising cattle and farming in the Nelson area while raising their children.

She was over a 70-year member of the United Methodist Church. Attending in Guide Rock, later changing her membership to Nelson, then Superior. She served on many women committees and held offices in them as well. She also taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Highland Club for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents Loren and Amy; her husband Lawrence on May 31, 2013; infant son Gary, sisters Phyllis (Carl) Hartman and Marian Ferebee and a niece Kathleen "Hartman" (Dwayne) McGinnis.

Survivors include her sons Stephen (Brenda) Williams of Green, Kansas and Donald (Kandy) Williams of Superior, Nebraska; four granddaughters Bailey and fiancé Lucas Hinrichs and Haley Williams, Lindsay "Smith" (Chad) Osborne and Amanda "Smith" Verbas; five great grandchildren Tyler, Kaycee, and Lucas Vrbas, Bellamy and Cambrie Osborne. She is also survived by her brother-in-law James Ferebee of Nelson, Nebraska along with a host of other relatives and a host of friends.
