Christian Biography of Mike Pearce

Michael Eugene Pearce, the son of Locuis and Wanda (Walden) Pearce, was born on March 28, 1941 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on April 7, 2024 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 83 years, 10 days.

Mike was a Superior High graduate and a member of the Olive Hill Church. He was baptized by Pastor Ken Fairbrother at the Church of Christ.

On July 16, 1959, Mike was united in marriage to Ruth Arlene Higer at Superior. This union was blessed with three children, Kevin, Kelly and Kraig. Mike was employed for 22 years at Ideal Cement and he also worked at Farmland Industries in electrical maintenance.

Mike built (from a kit) an ultralight and loved to fly. He liked spending time in his workshop and if he had a project that he was working on he would draw up the blue prints first and then follow through with its completion to perfection. One of his hobbies was collecting Cushman scooters. His spare time was spent doing yard work which he enjoyed, and had a beautiful yard to show for it. Mike and Ruth enjoyed square dancing and round dancing, and together they liked traveling in their motor home to see family and friends. Mike liked to keep busy and he did many part time jobs and one of his favorites was driving a semi in which he delivered cement, dry milk and sometimes cattle. Besides a deep love for his family, he loved his cat Sadie. Mike will be truly missed. He entered the Superior Good Samaritan Society in December of 2023 due to his health.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jon Sterling Pearce and his sister Patricia Ann Oliver.

Survivors include his wife Ruth, and his children Kevin (Yumi) Pearce of Graham, Washington; Kelly Robets of Eugene, Oregon; and Kraig (Tammy) Pearce of Peru, Indiana; six grandchildren Kristin, Jenny, Lindsey, Michael, Tyler and Ryan; eight great grandchildren Drake, Piper, Jace, Paislee, Savannah, Scarlett, Addy and Baylor; a former exchange student he thought of as a son, Eduardo Saenz along other relatives and a host of friends.
