Christian Biography of Neil Eugene Delka

Neil Eugene Delka was born in Lebanon, Kansas, January 8, 1936. He died August 29, 2020 at his home in Roanoke, Texas surrounded by family.
Neil was the oldest of eleven children born to Harold and Olive (Smith) Delka and grew up around the Bostwick area. He attended country school and Superior High School.
In the Fall of 1957 he met the love of his life, Audyne (Doyle) Delka, at a dance in Guide Rock, NE. They married on March 2, 1958 at the United Methodist Church in Hardy, NE.
Neil worked in road construction most of his life. Moving from job to job took him to New Mexico, Nebraska, Kansas and finally to Texas where he settled down to raise his family. In August of 1981 he started Delka Construction working with his sons until he left to care for his wife.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, his parents, his brothers Bill Delka and Don Delka and sister's in-law Diane Delka and Myrtie Delka, sister in-law  Barbara and husband Ken Gadberry, brother in-law Joe Doyle and his wife Phyllis.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters  Alice Delka, Ted Delka , Frank Delka and wife Connie, Raymond Delka and wife Lee, Arlene Delka, Dale Delka, Elaine Delka, Betty (Delka) Ehlers and husband Dale, Doris (Delka) Epke, Joe Delka and wife Joann,  brothers in-law James Doyle and wife Miriam, Larry Doyle and wife Pnut, his children Curtis Delka and wife Julie of Friendswood, Tx., Eddie Delka and wife Tina of Sanger, Tx., Kathy (Delka) Brakovec and her husband Dan of Denton, Tx., Dennis Delka of Roanoke, TX., 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who brought great joy to his life, numerous nieces, nephews and many more family and a host of friends.
Family was the most important thing to Neil whether it was having coffee with his siblings or just talking on the phone with them he always enjoyed those times.

Graveside Services will be held at: Bostwick Cemetery, Bostwick, Nebraska
