Christian Biography of Norma Blackburn

Norma J. Blackburn, the daughter of Samuel and Annetta E. (Huber) Nuss was born on April 25, 1962 at Henderson, Nebraska.  Norma passed away at Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska on July 10, 2017 at the age of 55 years, 2 months and 15 days.
She was baptized on May 27, 1962 at the Free German Reformed Salem Church by Elder Theodore Ehly.  Norma was confirmed June 6, 1976. She was a graduate of Sutton Public Schools and the University of Nebraska.
Norma was united in marriage to Thomas Michael Blackburn on August 17, 1985 at Zion Lutheran Church.  Norma had been a resident of Sutton, Lincoln and Superior, Nebraska.  She was a 25-year employee of Home Federal.  She was a member of the Elks, Eagles, PEO, Mothers Club, Red Caps and Salem Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed camping, being with her family and watching her children in their athletics.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alan; sister in law, Jeri Nuss; father in law, Ray William (Bill) Blackburn; and brother in law, William E. Blackburn.  Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tom Blackburn; children, Raile and Sierra Blackburn, all of Superior; brother, Mel Nuss of Phoenix, AZ; sister, Barbara (Gus) Griess of Sutton, NE; brother in law, Captain Dan (Jillian) Blackburn of Burlington, NJ, and mother in law, Barbara Blackburn of Holdrege, NE.; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 am from the Salem Lutheran Church in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Kathryn Bates officiating.

Music was "I Was There To Hear Your Borning Cry," "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," and "Amazing Grace," with Stephanie Thayer as the soloist and Sonia Schmidt her accompanist.

Visitation was held on July 14, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with family present from 5-7 to great friends.

Pallbearers were Wayne Hahn, Michael Grubb, Gary Griess, Michael Blackburn, Adam Hahn and Ben Hahn. Honorary Pallbearer was Molly Blackburn.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
