Christian Biography of Norman Lee Byland

Norman Lee Byland, the son of Clarence and Nellie (Hampson) Byland, was born on April 25, 1932 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. He passed away on May 14, 2019 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 87 years, and 19 days.

Norman was married to Marion Narveson in July of 1955; two children were born to this union. They later divorced. He married Ruth Johnston. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of the Hastings Eagle's club and managed a couple of motels. They moved to Superior where he resided until his death.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Ruth of Superior; his children Michelle Byland Semmens and husband Claude of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jeff Byland and wife Yoko of Tokyo, Japan. Step daughter Vivian Coles of Superior; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and his sister Iris Byland Kapil of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Per Norman's request he was cremated with no service scheduled.
