Christian Biography of Phyllis Kay (White) Rothchild
Phyllis Kay (White) Rothchild, was born to Clifford and Margaret (Selvage) White December 24, 1953 at Superior, Nebraska. She died November 26, 2018 at the age of 64 years, 11 months, 2 days with her family by her side at Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, Kansas
Phyllis was baptized at the United Methodist Church, Superior, Ne and was a member of the Christian Church, Mankato KS. Phyllis graduated from Superior High School in 1972. She met the love of her life Doyle Rothchild and they were married on November 23, 1973 at the Courthouse in Mankato, Kansas. To this union one son, Erik Edwin was born.
Doyle and Phyllis made their home in Mankato Kansas until Doyle's job took them to Garden City Kansas for a few years and then they returned to their home in Mankato Kansas.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Clifford White; grandparents Orin and Alta White and Robert and Margaret Selvage, in-laws Delbert and Carrie Rothchild, brother-in-law Marvin Crane, nephew, Michael Crane and brother-in-law Dennis Rothchild.
Those left to cherish her life: her loving husband of 45 years, Doyle E Rothchild, her beloved son, Erik Edwin Rothchild and wife, Jessica. her mother, Margaret (Selvage) (White) Breen and step-father, Gail Breen, Superior, Nebraska; Three precious grandchildren, Chloe, Catelyn and Casey Rothchild. Her special friend that is more like her daughter, Venus (Snyder) Geisler and husband Jeff and children Siblings – Nancy Pracheil, Clifford White and wife Ginger, David White and wife Gina, Carla Waugh and husband Carl and Kelly Shadduck and husband Steve and Jingles her dog. Brothers and Sisters-in-laws: Shirley Crane, Lyman Rothchild (Janice), Delmar Rothchild (Glenda), Jana Stokes (Art), and Marlin Rothchild and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
Phyllis was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Her family and friends were very important and made every effort to show that love and care in her daily actions. Phyllis welcomed many children into her home and treated them as if they were her own. Each child was certain they wouldn't leave her house hungry. Many friends knew that the coffee was waiting for them whenever they wanted to visit. Greatest joy was taking her grandkids shopping, taking them to eat or cooking a big meal and having them spend the night at her house. Phyllis's hobbies were her flowers, watching her red birds and orioles come back in the spring, playing cards and cribbage, and always had a big platter of grilled cheese sandwiches while they played. Doyle and Phyllis shared the love of working in the garden and little road trips on the weekends and fishing. Phyllis loved to take the grandkids on a picnic to the lake.
She worked for the Wright Corner, Jewell, Kansas and then had her own daycare for many years and cleaned many businesses and houses. She was a housewife and homemaker.
