Christian Biography of Renae Lynn Wheeland
Renae Lynn Wheeland, the daughter of Leonard and Patty (Davis) Pizarro, was born on November 8, 1981 in York, Nebraska. She passed away on May 18, 2013 as a result of an automobile accident north of Superior, Nebraska at the age of 31 years, 6 months, 10 days.
Renae attended school at Sandy Creek and Glenvil. She was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ and was baptized there in March of 2008 by the Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry. She was united in marriage to Kevin Wheeland on December 20, 2002 in Nelson.
Renae lived in the communities of Glenvil, Hastings, Kearney and Nelson throughout her life. She owned and operated a licensed day care in Nelson which she loved doing. She loved to be outdoors, visit the lake, going fishing and spending time with her own family as much as she could.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, and her father-in-law, John Wheeland.
She is survived by her husband Kevin of Nelson, Nebraska, her three children; Austin Mundorf, Megan Wheeland and Erik Wheeland all of Nelson, her mother Patty Ellis of Hastings, Nebraska her father Leonard Pizarro, mother-in-law Mary Wheeland and her grandmother, Judy Colburn of Glenvil, Nebraska; three brothers, Keith Pizarro of Omaha, Nebraska, Tim Pizarro and Nick Pizarro both of Hastings, Nebraska; and brother-in-law Jeff Wheeland of Nelson, Nebraska; along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 10:00 am from the Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Stephen Berry officiating.
Music was a recording of "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "I Knew You That Way," with Carlita Price playing prelude and postlude.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the church.
Pallbearers were Keith Pizarro, Tim Pizarro, Nick Pizarro, Austin Mundorf, Scott Wroughton and Ben Davis.
Interment was in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.
