Christian Biography of Richard A. Kimminau

Richard Kimminau, the son of Anthony and Frances (Faimon) Kimminau, was born on November 22, 1932 on a farm in Nuckolls County. He passed away on August 5, 2016 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital, in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 83 years, 8 months, 14 days.

Richard graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1951, having celebrated his 65th class reunion this year. He entered the United States Air Force on February 19,1953 and was honorably discharged on February 18,1957. After returning from the service he moved to California where he worked as an airplane mechanic. He then moved to Leadville, Colorado where he worked in the mines. Eventually he returned back to Nebraska in 1960, where he was engaged in farming, and a few years later he drove a truck for Grand Island Express, retiring in 2013.
He was united in marriage to Barbara Streit on May 10, 1967 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings, Nebraska.

Richard was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Guide Rock Legion, past president of the Guide Rock Farmers Union Coop, and past committee board member of the Nuckolls FSA office. He enjoyed playing canasta and pitch, and hunting deer and pheasants.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara on May 14, 2015.

Survivors include his brother Clarence Kimminau and wife Delores of Hastings, Nebraska; one sister-in-law Arlene Ahrens and husband Robert of Superior, Nebraska; and two brothers-in-law Duane Streit and wife Diane of Guide Rock, Nebraska and Charles Streit of North Platte, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Mass of Christian Burial Held at:St. Stephen's Catholic Church, rural Lawrence, Nebraska

Burial with Full Military Honors:St. Stephen's Cemetery, rural Lawrence, Nebraska

Rosary Service: Tuesday, August 9th at 7:00 PM at St. Stephen's Catholic Church
