Christian Biography of Rick Williams
James Richard "Rick" Williams, the son of Robert and Mary (Williams) Williams, was born on June 26, 1959 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on September 24, 2015 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital at Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 56 years, 2 months, 29 days, after a short bout with cancer.
Rick lived most of his life in Superior and graduated with the Superior High School class of 1977. He began working with his parents in the restaurant business and after the death of his father; he managed the Hereford Inn and Deluxe Liquor Store in Superior until they closed. He moved to Hastings and worked at Wal-Mart for six years before his death.
Rick was a very private person who enjoyed reading and Cornhusker football.
Rick was never married. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his brothers: Robert and his wife Vicki, Roger, and a sister Anita Stone; nieces, Kris Marshall and Stephanie Thayer and a nephew, Daniel Williams and other family and friends.
Memorial services were held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Kristin Van Stee officiating.
Music selections were "We Celebrate Your Life", "Hymn of Promise" with Carlita Price as the organist, and Stephanie Thayer as the soloist.
Private family inurnment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
