Christian Biography of Robert "Bob" Ahrens
Robert "Bob" Dean Ahrens, the son of Rudolph and Alma (Grummert) Ahrens, was born on July 10, 1940, at his parents' home in Cadams, Nebraska. He passed away on January 27, 2025, at his home in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 84 years, 6 months, 17 days.
Bob attended school in Superior and was a life member of Centennial Lutheran Church in Superior. He was united in marriage to Arlene Streit on November 15, 1958, at Centennial Lutheran Church and to his union they were blessed with four children.
Bob was a Cement Plant employee until it's closure then worked for Nuckolls County Road Department as a road grader until his retirement.
He was a member of the Pleasure Cruisers Car Club, and loved showing off his restored Volkswagen and F150. He enjoyed his music and CB radios was a big part of his life. He always took pride in the jobs he did, always doing his best. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Alma, in-laws Arnold and Norma Streit, son Ronald Dean Ahrens, son-in-law Thomas Bailey, brothers Duane, infants Roland, Ronald and Eldon, brothers-in-law Everett Boyle, Ralph Platt, Richard Kimminau and Rudy Streit, sister-in-law Barbara Kimminau and niece Diane Boyle.
Survivors include his wife Arlene of Superior, daughter Yvonne Bailey of North Platte, son Richard (Sharlot) Ahrens of Olathe, Ks, and daughter Betty (Kent) Bouray of Republic, KS; nine grandchildren: Kyla Bailey, Drew Bailey, Skyeler Ahrens, Alyson Ahrens, Jade Ahrens, Cassandra (Evan) Advakat, Aaron (Celsie) Ahrens, Klay (Kellin) Bouray and Dillon Bouray; 15 great grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Boyle, Carolyn (Roger) Petersen, and Helen Platt and brothers-in-law Duane Streit and Charles Streit; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Centennial Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Schafer officiating.
Book signing visitation: Friday 9:00 to 4:00 pm at the Funeral Home
Private Family Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska
Megrue-Price Funeral Home will be assisting the family with his arrangements.
