Christian Biography of Robert (Bob) Dennis Jones

Robert Dennis Jones reposed peacefully with Juli by his side, at the Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kearney, Nebraska on June 3, 2026 at the age of 71 years, 7 months, 3 days. He is the son of James and Etta Avanelle (Waggoner) Jones, born on October 5, 1954 in Hawthorne, California.

Bob was one of four siblings.  He was associated with St. George Orthodox Church in Kearney. On June 6, 2009 he was united in marriage to Juli Kay Mohler at St's Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Topeka, Kansas.

Bob previously lived in Superior before making his home in Kearney. Motorsports photography was his lifelong passion. He was proud to be named track photographer for Kearney Raceway in 2025.

He was preceded in death by his father James Jones; son Joseph Robert Jones and sister Pamela Ruth Oberlies.

Survivors include his wife Juli of Kearney; his mother Ava Jones of Charleston, AR; children Daniel (Jennifer) Jones of Thompson Station, TN; Christopher (Christa) of Aliso Viejo, CA; 5 grandchildren: Jack, Luke, Brianna, Hannah and Hudson Jones; siblings James (Patti) Jones of Reno, NV and Kim (Rick) Linville of Charleston, AR; daughter-in-law Debra Jones of Riverside, CA; and a host of family and friends.

Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 12:30 pm from the Sycamore Room Harmon Park Activity Center 3100 5th Ave., in Kearney, NE with fellowship to follow.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Jones, Luke Jones, Brianna Jones, Hannah Jones, Hudson Jones, Reed Koeppe and Chris Weides.

Inurnment in the Bostwick Cemetery following his service.
