Christian Biography of Robert L. Kinzie

Robert LaVeryl Kinzie, the son of Clifford Kinzie and Wilma (Snavely) Bennett, was born on October 25, 1942 in Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away on June 16, 2017 at the Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home at Hebron, Nebraska at the age of 74 years, 7 months, 22 days.

Robert grew up in Superior and was a 1961 Superior High School graduate.  He was baptized and confirmed at the Centennial Lutheran Church by Pastor Robert Leege. He moved to Dewitt and later Deshler, Nebraska.

He enlisted with the Army National Guard of Kansas in June of 1964 and was honorably discharged in June of 1970.

He was united in marriage to Sandra Jenkins on August 22, 1965 at Deshler, Nebraska and to this union 3 children were born. From 1975-1986, Robert served on the Deshler rescue unit and Fire Department. He was a member of the Eagle's Club in Beatrice for many years.

Robert was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker fan, he like to hunt and fish in his young years. He loved music, especially loves songs, 60's music, and was an Elvis Presley fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Michael and Charles.

He is survived by his daughters Kimberly Fayle and husband Bobby of Deshler, Nebraska, Kathleen Marquart and husband Jon of Byron, Nebraska and Kristin Kinzie of Beatrice, Nebraska; his brother Steve and wife Connie of Lincoln, Nebraska; 10 grandchildren: Danielle, Amanda, Brody, Caleb, Kelsey, Coleton, Keira, Hayden, Danton and Alexis; 4 great grandchildren: Braeden, Jaece, Jaelyn and Archer; other relatives and a host of friends.

Graveside services were held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at10:30 AM at the Nelson Cemetery in Nelson, Nebraska with Pastor Mark Hartley officiating.

Pallbearers were Bobby Fayle, Brody Fayle, Danton Cox, Hayden Cox, Jon Marquart and Caleb Durflinger.

Memorials are suggested to go to the Deshler Fire and Rescue
