Christian Biography of Robert Lee Young

Robert Lee Young, the son of Clifford and Josephine (Maruska) Young, was born on July 4, 1937 in Superior, Nebraska. He passed away on February 20, 2023 at the Harvard Rest Haven at Harvard, Nebraska the age of 85 years, 7 months, 16 days.

Bob attended the schools in Superior, graduating from Superior High School. He was a 60-year member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and 5 years at St. Cecilia in Hastings.

He married Annetta Meier on June 12, 1957 at Superior. To this union four children were born. Bob was employed at Safeway before taking employment at Ideal Basic Cement Plant in Superior where he retired.

He was a 15-year member of Superior Fire Dept and was a league bowler. Bob enjoyed archery, model airplanes and trains and doing DIY projects. Bob and Annetta traveled to 48 states and also the Bahamas. He loved his family and enjoying his time spent with his grandkids and great grandkids. He will be truly missed.

Bob and Annetta moved to Hastings where they enjoyed their retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Josephine, brother Roger, grandson Jace Bushnell and great grandson Charlie Fitze.

Survivors include his wife Annetta of Hastings; his children Angela (Mike) Uzeta of Hastings; Greg (Judy) Young of Hastings; Alissa (Justin) Bushnell of Superior; Regina (Kevin)Young of Temple City, CA; 12 grandchildren; 18+ great grandchildren; brothers Eugene (Marjorie) Young of Harvard; Gary (Nancy) Young of Cedar Rapids, IA and sister-in-law Rebecca Young of Denver, CO; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. from the St Joseph Catholic Church in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Ferdinand Boehme officiating. Lector was Mel Menke, Acolyte was Ron Rempe and Altar Servers were Nolan Meyer and Abram Carter.

Music was "Ave Maria," "I Am The Bread of Life," and "Holy God We Praise Thy Name," with Arnold Miller as the vocalist and Carlita Price as the organist.

Visitation was held on Friday from 4-8 with the family present from 5-8.

Pallbearers were Joe Young, Nathan Young, Andrew Young, Sam Young, Michael Uzeta and Bryce Fitzke. Honorary Pallbearer was Carll Imler.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested for Masses for Bob.
