Christian Biography of Bob Zeigler

Robert Gene Zeigler, the son of Roy and Nellie (Thorpe) Zeigler, was born on February 2, 1939 on a farm north of Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away on December 3, 2014 at the Tabitha Nursing Home in Crete, Nebraska at the age of 75 years, 10 months, 1 day.

Bob was one of 4 children, growing up he attended several country schools, and graduated from Nelson High School in 1956. He was a past member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Superior.

He was united in marriage to Connie Jensen on August 14, 1959, and to this union 4 children were born, Juliene, Jeanine, Bryan and Tricia, they were later divorced. He married Jan Schoeni-Conaway on June 26, 1992 in Hastings, Nebraska. They made their home together in Superior, with Jan working at Price Funeral Home and Bob was employed as a Network Technician by Lincoln Telephone Company which became later known as Aliant, retiring after many years of employment. Together, they decided to spend their retirement years in Wheatland, Missouri, where they enjoyed boating, fishing and golfing. After a short time their family and friends encouraged them to move back, so they returned to Superior to enjoy their retirement years.

Bob was a member of the Communications Workers of America, Telephone Pioneer Association, Nebraska State Volunteer Fireman's Association, 20 year member of the Superior Volunteer Fire Department, Elks Lodge, and was a past member of the Eagles club.

His hobby was keeping his yard in tip top shape, and he enjoyed carpentry work, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jan on February 13, 2011; infant daughter, Tricia Lynette, sisters, JoAnne Stasenka and Shirley Bohling.

He is survived by his daughters Juliene Snyder and husband Scott of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jeanine Kintigh and husband Roger of Webber, Kansas and son Bryan Zeigler and wife Stacy of Topeka, Kansas; 8 grandchildren Ashley and Danelle Snyder, Jason Kintigh and wife Melissa, Bryce Kintigh and friend Terrance Danker, Allison Kintigh, Macy, Lillian and Hollyn Zeigler; 3 great grandchildren, Gavin, Zachary & Holley Kintigh; one sister, Dolores White of Denver, Colorado;and special friend Cathy Ahrens, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at10:00 a.m. from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Becky Sadler officiating.

Music was "Peace in the Valley," and "Whispering Hope," solos by Stephanie Thayer and violin solo "Ashokan" by Ivan Miller with Carlita Price as the accompanist.

Visitation was held on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers were Jason Kintigh, Bryce Kintigh, Allison Kintigh, Ashley Snyder, Danelle Snyder, and Terrance Danker. Honorary Pallbearers were Gary Culbertson, Jim Harris, Alvin McCartney, and Kenneth Lynn Grossman.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to the Superior Volunteer Fire Department.
