Christian Biography of Roger Whiteley
Roger Lynn Whiteley, the son of Bryce and Margaret (Chamberlain) Whiteley, was born on March 23, 1955 in Hastings, Nebraska. He passed away on February 1, 2014 at his home in Hastings, Nebraska at the age of 58 years, 10 months, 9 days.
Roger graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1973. He was united in marriage to Georgia Lynn Weber on June 25, 1983 in Hastings, Nebraska.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a hard worker and fair boss and supervisor. Roger started welding when he was only 16 years old. He was a pipeliner for Kinder-Morgan for 28 years and most recently was a welding inspector traveling all over the country, currently in Pennsylvania. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, enjoyed Nascar, especially Tony Stewart, loved watching baseball on TV and also his grandson's games, together with his family had many "road trip" vacations, and enjoyed cooking and grilling.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Georgia of Hastings, Nebraska; son, Joseph and wife Jen of Hastings, Nebraska, daughter, Wendy Buhr and husband Nathan of Hastings, Nebraska, foster-daughter, Betty Dobrobolny and husband Steve of Yukon, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Payden and Brooklynn Buhr, Dustin, Kurtis, Catelynn and Raelynn Dobrobolny. He is also survived by one brother, Randy Whiteley of Hastings, Nebraska; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a host of many friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 11:00 am from the North Shore Assembly of God Church in Hastings, Ne with Pastor Chris Johnson officiating.
Book signing was held one hour before services at the church.
Inurnent will be in the Nelson Cemetery at Nelson, Nebraska.
A memorial will be established and may go in care of the family
