Christian Biography of Rosa Lee (Warneking) Imhoff

Rosa Lee Imhoff, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Howard) Warneking, was born on October 5, 1922 on a farm near Bostwick, Nebraska. She passed away on November 23, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society at Wood River, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 1 month, 19 days.

Rosa Lee graduated from Superior High School and then attended Beautician School in Lincoln, Nebraska. On July 22, 1945 she was united in marriage to Stanley Imhoff Sr. in Superior and to this union were born five children. She and her husband lived in Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico and Nebraska while he worked for the Bureau of Reclamation. Rosa Lee was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island, Nebraska.

She loved gardening, especially her roses and enjoyed watching birds. She and Stanley Sr. had a special bond with their dogs, they loved camping and picnicking. Rosa Lee was a loving mother and grandmother to all her children and grandchildren and will be missed greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley Frank Imhoff Sr. on September 3, 1998, two brothers, Glenn and Francis Warneking and three sisters, Elfrieda Giles, Ellen Fuller and Doris Morris.

She is survived by her children, Larry Imhoff and wife Jan McCurdy of Lambertville, New Jersey, Kay Imhoff of Bailey, Colorado, Jenny Imhoff of Manhattan, Kansas, Cindy Thornbrue of Norfolk, Virginia and Stanley Imhoff Jr. and wife Linda Weir-Imhoff of Norfolk, Virginia; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Howard Warneking and wife Mary Lou of Loomis, Nebraska; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Chris Hjelmstad officiating.

Music was congregational hymns "In The Garden" and "Just As I Am" with Carlita Price as the accompanist.

Pallbearers were Phiroze Sethna, Stanley Imhoff Jr., Joshua Thornbrue and Larry Imhoff.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
