Christian Biography of Ruth Ann Johnson

Our beloved mother, Ruth Ann Johnson, born June 5, 1919 in Fairbury, Nebraska passed away March 16 at the age of 98.  Ruth grew up as Ruth Ann Thomas in Hebron, Nebraska and graduated from the University of Nebraska. She taught school in Nebraska until she married her husband, George Johnson, in 1945.  She was a longtime resident of Superior until her husband George's retirement from his law practice in 1983. She moved with her husband to Tucson, Arizona where they spent their retirement years.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. She was a joy. She greeted everyone with a welcoming hug and a beautiful smile.

She was preceded in death by her husband George, her brothers Robert and Richard and her grandson Mark. She is survived by children Kay (Gary) Harvey of Woodbury, Minnesota, Tom (Margie) Johnson of Tucson, Arizona and Mike (Lynn) Johnson of Grand Island, Nebraska. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was a devout Presbyterian and active in the Superior Presbyterian Church. After moving to Tucson she and her husband were members of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband in Superior and Tucson. She loved playing bridge and Scrabble. She learned Spanish and volunteered to teach Spanish-speaking children English. She was active in PEO until recent years.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior with Pastor Mark Diehl officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
