Christian Biography of Sharon Kay (Holeman) John
Sharon Kay John, the daughter of Donnell T. and Gertrude I. (Hunt) Holeman, was born on January 2, 1942 in Loup City, Nebraska. She passed away on November 14, 2022 at her home at the age of 80 years, 10 months, 12 days.
Sharon attended Country East Side Dist. #11 grade school in Arcadia, graduating from Arcadia High School. She was married to Robert L. John on June 25, 1961 at Arcadia. Four daughters were born to this union.
Sharon enjoyed bird watching, quilting, sewing, baking, puzzles and games. She loved Jesus and was a strong prayer warrior for family and friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Donnell and Gertrude; and her brother Dick Holeman and sister-in-law June Holeman
Survivors include her husband Robert; daughters Brenda M. John, Barbara J. (Jason) Garton, Bonita I. (Darren) Kinney all of Lincoln; and Becky S. (Chad) Ortmeier of Dodge, Nebraska; five grandchildren: Bailey (Kinney) Sturgeon of Fremont; Payton Kinney of Omaha, Ande Kinney of Lincoln; Samuel Ortmeier of Dodge; and Emerson Ortmeier of Dodge. Five great grandchildren: Norah, Eliza, Hazel, and Jovie and Olive Sturgeon; Honorary Grandkids are Emily and Trevon Watts; siblings Eugene (Louise) Holeman of Westerville, NE; Harold (Lois) Holeman of Delafield, WI; Reuben Holeman of Arcadia, NE and Donnell Holeman of Arcadia, NE; and sister-in-law Peggy Holeman of Arcadia; other relatives and a host of friends.
Memorial services are being held on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the City Auditorium in Nelson, Nebraska with refreshments following in the Community Center.
