Christian Biography of Sherry Brown

Sherry Ann Brown passed away at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Nampa with Her family by her side on January 26, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. at the age of 71, after a yearlong battle with Cancer.

Sherry was born in Superior, Nebraska on December 20, 1945 to Ruben and Olive Morris. She moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1964 after graduating from Superior High School to attend Beauty College. When she met her future husband, Ken, the two of them went on to build a life and family. She worked at the Nampa Simplot potato processing plant until she retired in 2010, after working in the same location for 35 years.

Sherry really enjoyed spending every summer camping and fishing in the Idaho mountains; bowling in leagues and tournaments all over the northwest and across the country; and spending time with her grandchildren, encouraging their hobbies, and going to watch them bowl. She cheered for all of them during their band concerts and competitions. Upon arrival of her great granddaughter in 2016, she found great joy playing with and just sitting on the couch watching the little one grow and learn. She had spent many years deeply involved in the Moose Lodge, working from just a member to the highest of chairs in the Local chapter of the Women of the Moose.

Sherry is preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Ruben and Olive Morris; younger sister, Linda Kay Morris; brother, Terry Morris; son, Steven Brown; and her first daughter, Sharla Kay Brown.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Ken Brown of 52 years. They were married in Nampa on April 23rd 1965. Sherry is lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law Angela and Dale Smith of Nampa; three granddaughters, Alisha Kay Stephenson (James Stephenson), DaleAnn Shippy (Phillip Shippy), and Kendall Smith, all of Nampa; one great granddaughter, Olivia Jo Shippy; her younger twin sisters, Lillian Johns of Nampa and Lillie Shellhase (Don Shellhase) of Geneva, NE; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.



Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Avenue South in Nampa.

Funeral services will be on Friday, February 3rd at 2p.m. at Alsip and Persons Funeral Chapel with Jerry Christensen officiating.

Interment will follow at Kohler Lawn Cemetery immediately following services, James Stephenson will provide the Dedication of the Grave.
