Christian Biography of Steven D. Lipker
Steven D. Lipker, the son of Albert and Esther (Doring) Lipker, was born on May 26, 1948 in Deshler, Nebraska. He passed away on May 14, 2014 at his home in Ruskin, Nebraska at the age of 65 years, 11 months, 19 days.
Steve was one of 7 children. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Ruskin and attended the Ruskin Public Schools.
He previously was employed at Houtwed's trucking and Ruskin service station. He was self-employed with Steve Lipker Trucking.
Trucking was Steve's life and he enjoyed working on his vehicles, in his yard, and doing handiwork in his home, he also enjoyed visiting with all the people at the elevators.
He was a member of the Ruskin Fire Department serving as Fire Chief at one time, Ruskin school board member, and St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Lester and Denny Lipker.
He is survived by his children Stephani Chase of Grand Island, Nebraska and Tony Lipker and wife Rachelle of Hastings, Nebraska; six grandchildren Morgan, Elizabeth, Emily, Chelsie, Paige and Adrienne; sister Marilyn Holtzen and husband Lloyd of Davenport, Nebraska; brothers Norman of Deshler, Nebraska; Barry of Hastings, Nebraska; and Robert and wife Tami of Harvard, Nebraska; and sister-in-laws Moneen Lipker of Arvada, Colorado and Peggy Lipker of Superior, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. B.J. Fouts officiating.
Music was "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "The Old Rugged Cross," and "How Great Thou Art," with Stephanie Thayer as soloist and Carlita Price as the organist.
Visitation was held on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers were Jim Meyer, Steve Drohman, Jake Lipker, Derek Lipker, Don Lipker and Doug Holtzen.
Interment was in the Spring Creek Cemetery at Ruskin, Nebraska.
