Christian Biography of Tim Aldrup

Timothy Jay Aldrup, the son of Jay and Karlene (Kuehner) Aldrup, was born on July 17, 1949 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He passed away on November 2, 2014 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center at Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 65 years, 3 months, 16 days.

Tim grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Pius High School. After high school, Tim attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln earning his Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy. He was united in marriage to Peggy Applegate on May 1, 1974 at her parent's backyard in Superior, Nebraska.


Tim was an artist, painter, sculptor and a carver and worked with leather. He retired as a bus driver from Superior Public Schools.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law George Salstrand, and his mother and father in-law Mary and Robert Applegate.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy of Hardy, Nebraska; sisters Kathy Salstrand of Centerville, Iowa; and Mary Beth Shoemaker and husband Mark of Overland Park, Kansas; brothers Mike Aldrup of Lincoln, Nebraska and Matt Aldrup of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers-in-law Robert Applegate II and Dorthy of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jerry Applegate and wife Diane of Kearney, Nebraska along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with David Watters officiating.

Recorded selections of Gordon Lightfoot were played.

Visitation was held on Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM with family present to greet friends from 5-7 and Thursday 9:00 AM until the services.

Pallbearers were John Patterson, Ben Applegate, Chuck Applegate, Mike Applegate, Mark Shoemaker and Donn Mellott. Honorary Pallbearers were Charles Fike, Fred Gfeller and Robert McAdams.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established and may go in care of the family
