Christian Biography of Twilla Mae Frerichs Obituary
Twilla Mae Frerichs (Hutt) peacefully passed away on October 3, 2024 at the age of 92, surrounded by her family at the Good Samaritan Society in Superior, Nebraska.
Born on March 9, 1932, to Glenn and Wanda (McGowan) Hutt on a farm south of Superior, Twilla was the middle child of three sisters, Donna and Sharon. She attended Valley View rural school and graduated from Superior High School in 1950.
On August 17, 1952, Twilla married Gene Frerichs at the Methodist Church in Superior; where she was a lifelong member. For many years, she was employed at Security Bank.
Twilla and Gene lived on a farm south of Superior their whole married life. They welcomed into their family, two sons and a daughter.
Twilla was a member of the Methodist Church women's group, the Valley View Club and the couple's 68-year card party group. As a youth, she participated in the Webber Wide Awake 4-H Club, later becoming an adult leader. In retirement, Twilla and Gene enjoyed camping and were members of the Sodbuster's camping club. They always planted a large garden they shared with family and friends and sold sweet corn each summer. The 4th of July was a cherished family tradition, highlighted by barbecue featuring Twilla's delicious chocolate sheet cake and homemade potato salad, celebrating both the holiday and the end of their annual fireworks stand season.
In her later years, Twilla and Gene resided at Kingswood Court, an assisted living facility in Superior, where they enjoyed the companionship of fellow residents and dedicated staff. As her health declined, Twilla transitioned to the Good Samaritan Society in Superior.
Twilla was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Wanda Hutt; her in-laws, Hans and Anna Frerichs; and brothers-in-law: Glenn Mickelsen, Norm Mosier, Alan Frerichs, Glen Frerichs, and Bob Frerichs. She was also preceded by sisters-in-law, Elizabeth, Beulah and Dorothy Frerichs.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Gene, with whom she shared 72 wonderful years; her sisters, Donna Mickelsen of Superior and Sharon Mosier of Cle Elum, Washington; sister-in-law, Bobbie Frerichs of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughter, Linda Frerichs of Superior; sons Mark (Pam) of Papillion, Nebraska and Kent (Sarah) of Concord, North Carolina; granddaughters Melissa Warcholek (Stan) of Columbia, South Carolina and Katie Frerichs of Durham, North Carolina; grandsons Brent (Kathleen) of Papillion, Nebraska and Ben (Kari) of Leawood, Kansas; five great-grandchildren: William, Brady, Everett, Henry, and Carolyn; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
