Christian Biography of Virginia Dean Erickson
Virginia Dean Erickson, the daughter of Harold and Anna (Meyer) Woods, was born on March 9, 1926 in St. Louis, Illinois. She passed away on June 11, 2013 at Heritage Club of Aurora, Colorado at the age of 87 years, 3 months, 2 days.
On July 6, 1946, Virginia was united in marriage to LeRoy Erickson at Greensboro, North Carolina. To this union two sons and a daughter were born, Bente, Stephen and Ronald. Her husband was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force retiring in 1973. Virginia was alongside her husband as he completed his tours of duty in Germany, Marshall Island, Libya, England and Vietnam. They made their home in Colorado upon his retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband LeRoy on April 29, 1980.
She is survived by her daughter Bente Martucci and husband Joseph of Elizabeth, Colorado, Stephen of Lincoln, Nebraska and Ronald of Federal Heights, Colorado; sister Juanita Palmier and husband Bob of Glen Carbon, Illinois; and brother William Woods and wife Janet of Lebanon, Illinois; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with Rev. Dr. Jocelyn Tupper officiating.
Music was Alan Jackson recordings.
Visitation was held on Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Pallbearers were Joe Martucci, Bob Palmier, Tony Martucci, Aaron Martucci, Stephen Erickson, and Ronald Erickson.
Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.
