Christian Biography of William "Bill" Kathman

William Frank Kathman, the son of William and Theresa (Lutkenhaus) Kathman, was born on July 14, 1926 in Lawrence, Nebraska. He passed away on October 13, 2019 at the Superior Good Samaritan Society at Superior, Nebraska at the age of 93 years, 2 months, 29 days.

Bill was baptized by Fr. Aloys Hahn. He grew up on the farm south of Lawrence, with his 8 siblings and attended St. Stephen's Catholic School thru the eighth grade.

He was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Honorary member. His first love was farming and he also enjoyed baseball and woodworking. Bill moved to Superior from the farm in 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Alfred, George, Eugene and Edmund and his sisters Louise, Mary, Helena and Emma.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 10:00 am from the St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Lawrence, Nebraska with Rev. Corey Harrison officiating. Lector was Lyle Schroer, Acolyte was Don Mazour, Altar Servers were Hayden Mazour and Wyatt Brockman.

Music was "How Great Thou Art," "Be Not Afraid," "Amazing Grace," "In The Garden," and "On Eagle's Wings, "with Sheri Buescher as the vocalist and Sara Griffis as the organist.

Visitation was held on Friday from 4-8 with the family present from 7-8 to greet friends at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Andrew Kathman, Phil Mazour, Craig Mazour, Keaton Mazour, Kolton Kucera, and Theo Kathman.

Interment was in the St. Stephen's Cemetery at Lawrence, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go to St. Stephen's Cemetery or for Masses.
